Compania de Apă Someș S.A. continues the investment program through the new Regional Project for the Development of Water and Wastewater Infrastructure in Cluj and Sălaj counties, during 2014-2020. The investments within the Project represent an effort to ensure the highest possible degree of coverage with centralized water and wastewater services in the Company's operating area.

Fulfilling the commitments assumed by Romania in the negotiation process regarding the environmental protection implies the realization of some major investment projects in the environmental infrastructure, including in the water supply and wastewater sector.

The regional project for the development of water and wastewater infrastructure in Cluj and Sălaj counties, in the period 2014-2020 ″ is co-financed by the Large Infrastructure Operational Program 2014-2020, within the Specific Objective 3.2 Development of Integrated Water and Wastewater Infrastructure

Improving the water and wastewater infrastructure in Cluj and Sălaj counties by expanding and developing the drinking water supply service, being microbiologically controlled, in conditions of safety and health protection in localities with over 50 inhabitants and ensuring the collection and treatment of wastewater for agglomerations greater than 2,000 le to comply with the requirements of European directives on the quality of water intended for human consumption.

Proposed investments

  • Increasing the degree of connection to drinking water supply services, being microbiologically controlled, in conditions of safety and health protection, by expanding the water supply within two existing zonal systems: Cluj Zonal System and Huedin Zonal System - to ensure compliance with Directive 98/83 / EC;

  • Ensuring the collection and treatment of wastewater in 11 agglomerations larger than 2,000 p.e. in order to ensure compliance with Directive 91/271 / EEC.
